survival of a rose
2014
rose hooked on a infusion with water holding for several weeks
This ready-made
sculpture was
created in
connection with
the photo-documentation
series "Tomatoes, Euphrates
and Goats Protesting in Anatolia"
from 2010-2014.
Here we see a lifeless rose,
kept alive by a water infusion
until the flower is no longer able
to absorb water and undergoes the
natural process of decay.A visual
representation of the question of
how controlled we are in a
consumer society flooded with mass
media,which deprives us of natural
foundations and processes.
It also draws parallels to the
extinction of lifestyles and
the transformation of a society
that increasingly consumes instead
of creating, as seen in the videos
"Tomatoes + Euphrates".
