PULP – Between Nostalgic Cellulose and Fictional Worlds The 
"Pulp" series is an artistic exploration of nostalgic cellulose 
and the deeply rooted narratives of love, politics, society, a
nd betrayal. Funda Özgünaydin uses archival material as a 
resonant foundation for stories that oscillate between monsters 
and myths, history and fiction.In these compositions, dinosaurs 
and fictional characters encounter abstract color schemes. 
Thick and fine brushstrokes overlay the source material, 
reflecting a spirit of spontaneous surprise. This process 
represents a conscious migration between realism and abstraction—a 
visual manifestation of our complex contemporary world.Within 
the creative process, the artist develops new techniques that break
 down existing structures. Archival materials are not merely cited; 
they are transformed and freely reflected upon. In response to the 
abstraction of current politics and its impact on art and society,
Funda views her work as a rescue mission: an attempt 
to recover what has been lost, to recontextualize it, and 
to give human essence a space within the chaos of structures.

Die Serie „Pulp“ ist eine künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit 
nostalgischem Zellstoff und den darin tief verwurzelten Narrativen 
über Liebe,
Politik, Abenteuer und Verrat. Funda Özgünaydin nutzt das 
Archivmaterial als resonanten Boden für Geschichten, 
die zwischen Monstern und Märchen, zwischen Historie und Mythos 
changieren.In den Kompositionen treffen Dinosaurier und fiktive 
Figuren auf abstrakte Farbschemata. Dicke und feine Pinselstriche 
überlagern das Ausgangsmaterial und spiegeln eine 
überraschungsfreudige Freiheit wider. 
Dieser Prozess ist eine bewusste Migration zwischen Realismus und 
Abstraktion – eine visuelle Entsprechung unserer komplexen Gegenwart.
Innerhalb des kreativen Prozesses entwickelt die Künstlerin neue 
Arbeitstechniken, die bestehende Strukturen aufbrechen.

Das Archivmaterial wird nicht nur zitiert, 
sondern transformiert. Angesichts einer abstrakten aktuellen 
Politik und deren Auswirkungen auf Kunst und Gesellschaft versteht 
als einen Rettungsversuch: 
Es geht darum, das verloren Gegangene zu bewahren, 
neu zu kontextualisieren und der menschlichen Essenz im Chaos
der Strukturen wieder Raum zu geben.
